Welcome to Car hire Uganda! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our car hire services and website. By booking, hiring, or using our vehicles, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

To hire a vehicle from Car hire Uganda, you must:

• Be at least 21 years old (for standard vehicles) or 25 years old (for premium or 4×4 vehicles).

• Hold a valid driver’s license recognized in Uganda for at least two (2) years.

• Present a valid national ID or passport.

• Provide a refundable security deposit before vehicle handover.

2. Booking and Payment

• Bookings can be made online, via phone, or at our offices.

• A minimum deposit of 50% is required to confirm a booking.

• Full payment must be completed before or at the time of vehicle collection.

• Accepted payment methods include cash, mobile money (MTN/Airtel), debit/credit card, or bank transfer.

• Prices are quoted in US Dollar and are subject to change without prior notice.

3. Vehicle Collection and Return

• Vehicles are delivered in good working condition, clean, and with a full tank.

• Vehicles must be returned:

  • At the agreed time and location.

  • In the same condition as received (excluding normal wear).

• Vehicles returned without a full tank will be refueled, and refueling costs plus a service fee will apply.

4. Use of Vehicle

• Vehicles are to be used only within Uganda, unless prior written approval is granted.

• The vehicle must not be:

  • Used for illegal purposes, racing, or towing.

  • Driven by anyone other than the authorized driver(s).

  • Sublet, sold, or used to transport prohibited goods.

• The hirer is responsible for any fines, penalties, or traffic offenses incurred during the hire period.

5. Insurance and Liability

• All vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance (third-party, fire, and theft).

• The hirer is liable for the insurance excess/deductible, which is the first amount payable in case of damage or loss.

• Insurance does not cover:

  • Damage caused by reckless or drunk driving.

  • Unauthorized drivers.

  • Tire punctures, glass damage, or loss of personal items.

• In case of an accident, the hirer must:

  • Notify Car hire Uganda immediately.

  • Report the incident to the nearest police station within 24 hours.

  • Obtain a police report and accident reference number.

6. Breakdown and Assistance

• In case of a mechanical breakdown not caused by the hirer, Car hire Uganda will provide replacement assistance or repairs at no extra charge.

• For breakdowns caused by negligence (e.g., running out of fuel, off-road misuse), repair costs are borne by the hirer.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

• Free cancellation is allowed up to 48 hours before pick-up.

• Cancellations made within 48 hours of pick-up attract a 20% charge of the booking amount.

• No refunds for early returns or no-shows.

8. Privacy Policy

• Car hire Uganda respects your privacy.

• Personal data collected during booking will only be used for rental and verification purposes.

• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

Car hire Uganda shall not be liable for:

• Loss or damage to personal property left in the vehicle.

• Delays, loss, or inconvenience caused by unforeseen events (e.g., accidents, weather, traffic).

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be resolved through negotiation, and if unresolved, through the courts of competent jurisdiction in Uganda.
